In last week's issue of Jet Magazine, Etterline DeBarge (the mother of Eldra, Chico and James DeBarge) spoke tangentially about the secret love child of Janet Jackson and James DeBarge.
Here's what Jet Magazine reported:
Etterlene also addresses the marriage between Janet and James Debarge and whether the two of them had a child. She says, James has four kids now. "James refuses to say anything. Magazines offered him big money to say stuff. He could be rich, but he would not do it. He would rather be broke. He's very, very loyal to Janet. She really loved him and he really loved her." Interestingly, she doesn't deny the existence of a grandchild.

I refuse to believe this until I see a DNA test and James running off the stage with Maury chasing behind him with a camera.
I'm sure if you check back in the old archived Essence,Ebony,or Jet mag articles we may find some more info.
If this is true, than Janet shouldn't be afraid to come out with it. We all remember how she kept her second marriage secret for 10 years! Maybe she wondering if people might look at her in a negative way. Still she may have done so to protect the child from the media with the Jackson's history and all that. I can't blame her though.
